T. 31. IV. 8 – 11. Jesus: “When you have looked upon the alternatives in all honesty, there is a real choice you have the power to make. Until that point is reached, however, you have no choice, and you can but decide which way you might better to deceive yourself again!
This course attempts to teach no more than the essential lesson that the power of decision cannot lie in choosing different forms of what is still the same illusion and the same mistake. All of your choices in the world depend on the mistaken belief that you must always choose between your brother and yourself; that you will gain as much as he will lose, and what you lose is what is given him.’
How utterly opposed to truth is this, when the present lesson’s purpose, seen in its entirety, is but to teach that what your brother loses, you have lost, and what he gains is what is given you as well!
Listen well: The Father has not left His Thoughts nor lost Them! But ’til now, you did forget His Presence and remembered not His Love. No pathway that leads to any worldly thing can lead to Him, nor can any worldly goal be one with His.
What road, in all the world, will lead within, when every road was made to separate your journey from the only purpose it can really have, unless that is, it be but futile wandering? All roads that seem to lead away from what you are, will but lead you to more confusion and despair. Yet your Creator has never left His Thoughts to die, leaving them without their Source, which is forever present within themselves.
Your Father has not left His Thoughts! He could no more depart from them than they could really keep Him out. In unity with Him do all His Thoughts abide, and in Their Oneness, are they Both kept complete, whole and holy.
There is no road that really leads away from Him! A journey ‘away from yourself’ does not exist! How foolish and insane it is to think that there could be a road with such an aim! Where could it go? And how could you be made to travel on it, walking there without your own reality at one with you?
Forgive yourself your madness, and forget all senseless journeys and all goal-less aims! They have no meaning. You can not escape from what you are! For God is merciful, and never did he let His Son abandon Him.
Be thankful now for what He is to you, for in that recognition is your escape from madness and from death. Nowhere but where He is can you be found! In truth, there is no real path that does not lead to Him.”
