T. 19. IV. B. 14 – 16. Jesus: “Why should the body be anything to you? Certainly what it is made of is not precious. And just as certainly, it has no feeling. It merely transmits to you the feelings that you want!
Like any communication medium, the body just receives and sends the messages that it is given. In itself, it has no awareness, hence it has no feeling for them. All of the feeling with which they are invested is given them by you, and you are both the sender and the receiver! The ego and the Holy Spirit, each within your mind, both recognize this. And they recognize too, that in this messaging, the sender and receiver are the same!
The Holy Spirit tells you this with joy! But the ego hides it, for it would keep you unaware of it, wanting you to think the body somehow is yourself. Who would send messages of hatred and attack, if he but understood he only sends them to himself?
Who, unless insane, would accuse, make guilty and condemn himself? The ego’s messages must therefore ‘always be sent away from you,’ in the belief that ‘someone else,’ other than yourself, will suffer for the attack and guilt that you have made! And even if you suffer still, ‘yet someone else will still suffer more,’ or so you think!
The great deceiver, the ego, recognizes that this fallacy is not so, but as the ‘enemy’ of peace and wholeness, it still urges you to project all your thoughts of sin ‘outward,’ and thereby seemingly to ‘free yourself of guilt.’ And to convince you this is possible, the ego uses the body, bidding it to search for pain in some form of attack, telling you it is ‘necessary,’ and offering it to you as freedom from the attack within that you have laid upon yourself.
Hear not the ego’s madness any longer, and believe not that the impossible is true! Forget not that the ego has dedicated the body to the goal of sin, and places in it all its faith that this illusion can be accomplished.”
