T. 18. VI. 4 – 8. Jesus: “The body was not made by love. Yet love does not condemn it and can use it lovingly, respecting the illusion the Son of God has made, and using it to save him from the very illusions it was made to support. Would you not have the instruments of separation reinterpreted as means for your salvation, and used for purposes of love?
Would you not welcome and support the shift from fantasies of pain and vengeance to the means for your release from them? Your perception of the body can clearly be sick, but let the Holy Spirit perceive for you, and the sickness will no longer be projected upon the body. For your wish to make destructive what cannot destroy can have no real effect at all!
What you are is what God created forever holy and only what He would have it be, being His Will. You cannot make His Will destructive! You can only make fantasies in which your will seemingly conflicts with His, but fantasy is all they are!
It is insane to use the body as the scapegoat for your guilt, directing its attack, then blaming it for what you wished it do on your behalf. It is impossible to make fantasies real by ‘acting them out,’ for that is still but fantasy! Though it is the fantasies you seem to want, it is not the body that is making them real to you. The body does not dream them, and your fantasies but make the body a liability to you, where it could an asset be instead. For fantasies have made your body your ‘enemy,’ have made it weak and vulnerable, treacherous to you, and worthy of the hate that you have invested in it.
How has this served you? You have identified with this thing you hate, made it the instrument of vengeance, and then perceived it as the source of your own guilt. You have done this to a thing that has no meaning of its own, proclaiming it to be the dwelling place of God’s Son, and turning it against him! This thing is what you have made to be ‘the host of God.’ Yet neither God nor His most holy Son can enter an abode that harbors hate, where you have sown the seeds of vengeance, violence and death.
This thing you made to serve your guilt but stands between you and other minds. The minds are joined, but you do not identify with them! You see yourself locked in a separate prison, removed and unreachable, as incapable of reaching out as being reached. You hate this prison you have made, and would destroy it. But you would not escape from it, leaving it unharmed, without your guilt upon it!
Yet only thus can you escape! The home of vengeance is not yours; the place you set aside to house your hate is not a prison. It is nothing but an illusion of yourself! The body is an imagined limit imposed upon the universal communication that is an eternal property of mind. The body is outside of you, but the eternal communication is internal!”
